palatinum.info Photo Contest 2004

• palatinum.info is searching for the most creative, thrilling, beautifull picture of Pfalz or closeby Alsace.

  Everything is possibel - send in your climbing-, bouldering-, lifestyle-, or landscape shot. It only needs to be taken in Pfalz or Alsace close to the German border.

  All pics are reviewed by an international jury of photographers and designers.
  The winner is will be rewarded with stunning prices!

The date for the next climbing course Advanced techniques in Sports Climbing with trainer Alex Wenner is scheduled. If you want to hone your climbing skills this is the right course for you - 2 days of outdoors fun in Pfalz , on the second weekend in July. Pfalz Route News

Andi Ziegler & Frankonia emigrant Sascha Podeiko repeated "Gamba" 8a in the roof the Retschel rock.

• Julius Westphal repeated "ZEC" 8a+/b after a grip broke off (under grip in the roof is missing, therefore route was enhanced by another boulder).
  The new rating is still under vivid discussion. However, 8b might be realistic now (especially for short folks).

Mahlstrom redone

• Loic Fossard succeeds in repetitions of "Mahlstrom" 8a+ and "Des Müllers Lust" 8a at Mühlfels.
• Fred Abel bouldered "Madame la trav", a new Fb.7b/b+ in sektor Coupe du monde.

New Routes in Pfalz

• Ingo Bald did an old Scharfenberger project through the smooth wall towards the valley at Kuhfels that checks in at 9+. A name is still not found.
• Jens Richter climbed "Zong" 9 at Rotenrumer Eck.
• Also at Rotenrumer Eck, Julius Westphal climbed the Ziegler Projekt, grade 9+. Not named so far.

Frankenjura

Alsace Guys in Pfalz

Loic Fossard repeated "Bespring mich" 8a+, "Ausbeute" 8a+, "Mamba" 8a+ and a new combination of "TNT"-exit and Gecko" 8a at Retschel.

• Thomas Leleu & Julian Panigot climbed "Domina" 8a at Bruchweiler Geierstein.

Outside Pfalz

• Loic Fossard repeated "Monster Crack" 8a and "Le salaire d' un zappeur" 8a+ in Basler Jura.
• Julian Panigot climbed "Marqué en toit" 8a in Basler Jura.
• Olivier Froideval repeated "Le salaire d' un zappeur" 8a+.

SANSI - meeting June 18th 2004
